North Island Choral Society Registration for the Fall 2025 (Bach Magnificat) term is now CLOSED! In 3 days we filled all of our seats.
The fee for the Fall 2025 term is $120. If you have not paid by e-transfer, bring cash or cheque to the first rehearsal.
$10.00 of the choir fee is for a brand new copy of Bach’s Magnificat. At the end of the term you will have three options: Mark it up as you wish and then keep it for your library, donate without permanent markings to our music library, or if clean of markings, request the $10.00 return from Mo our music librarian.
We were grateful last term that singers were conscious of maximizing their attendance at the rehearsals and sectionals. Holiday leaves were kept to a minimum and absences were reported to Ruth via our contact page on the website. The more we commit to attendance at rehearsals the better the ensemble we create and the more we honour the hard work of Paul and Julie in preparing us to ‘wow ‘our audiences.
We will start rehearsals on Tuesday Sept 9 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Comox Valley Presbyterian Church. Concerts are Dec 5 and 6. Dress rehearsal on the 4th.
The repertoire is: Bach: Magnificat in D, BWV 243; Saint-Saens: Oratorio de Noel, op. 12; Palestrina: O Magnum Mysterium. We will stage the concert with the choir, 5 soloists and the orchestra which will include 3 guest trumpeters.
