North Island Choral Society

Seating Plan etc

Hello Fellow Choristers!

Just letting you know about a couple of things. I’ve just written the press release, but I need some photos to go with it. On Tuesday I’ll be taking some pictures. It’s really important that you have your faces up looking at the conductor (is that a strong enough hint?)

It’s one month till the concerts, so we’d like to have people sitting as closely as possible to the positions they’ll be in at the concerts. I’ve now got a pretty clear idea of what works on the risers, so I hope there aren’t too many changes needed at the dress rehearsals. I’ve attached a plan. If all goes well, we will not be putting individual names on seats, so please take note of where you are sitting this week and stay there till the concert. If you are going to be absent this week, please be sure to have someone save a spot for you.

On Tuesday, each chair will be labeled with a part (S,A,T,B). Please sit according to the following:

  1. As Paul said last week, if you have mobility issues, or if you have trouble standing. PLEASE SIT IN THE FRONT ROW. We want everyone to be safe. It’s better to sing sitting and be comfortable than to stand and be in pain.
  1. If you are tall, try to sit near the back (and if you are short, sit near the front).
  1. Since sections don’t split very often, we are hoping that 1sts and 2nds will work this out on their own.
  1. Tenors, it would be best if we mixed the male tenors and the female tenors as much as possible.

Depending on the sound, Paul may ask for a few swaps. This is a very normal thing for a conductor to do.

Thanks for your cooperation,

Jo
